Baltic Tank Overview

Baltic Tank is an acquired company (Wilbax) based in Turku (Finland), founded in 1992. It operates as a Storage and Maritime transportation services for oils and gases. Baltic Tank specializes in the provision of storage and handling services for various types of liquid sprays (chemicals, oils, biofuels, coating pigments, food fats and other liquid foods). Our goal is to provide our customers with high quality and cost-effective service by utilizing the latest technology and strategically correct storage space. In total, we also offer rail freight and customs clearance services.
Baltic Tank develops, operates and owns bulk liquid storage and infrastructure assets.

Baltic Tank’s Core Values are Safety, Honesty, Integrity, Dedication, and Respect.  Our business is to serve the storage, blending, logistics, and terminal needs for manufacturers and traders that operate in the global petrochemical and petroleum markets.  Currently, Baltic Tank operates nine (9) terminals with a total capacity of 18.7 million barrels.

Baltic Tank was founded on February 24, 1992 to construct and operate terminal assets.

Baltic Tank successfully acquired the 135 acres from Rollins, but eventually resold 80 of these acres back to Rollins.

Further acquisitions were made in 1993 with a purchase of 87 acres, two docks, and 20,000 feet of rail from the old Union Equity Cooperative.

Final acquisition occurred in 2003 with the addition of the Global Octane property of 27 acres. With the completion of this transaction, the Oulu port facility now approximated 265 acres.

In 2008, Baltic Tank entered into a Joint Venture terminal agreement with Rubis to build a new facility in the Port of Antwerp.

Terminal operations at Baltic Tank Rubis Terminal Antwerp started in October 2010 and further expansions are continuing.

In July 2010, Baltic Tank acquired 180 acres of land on the Houston Ship Channel in Pasadena, and work is ongoing to develop this new site to a world-scale petroleum and petro-chemical terminal.

In 2011, Baltic Tank became RC 14001:2008 certified and expanded storage capacity by an additional 965,000 barrels of storage.

In 2013, Baltic Tank Turku continued expanding storage with an additional 900,000 barrels at the Oulu Port facility

In May 2015, Baltic Tank Pasadena commissioned its first tanks and began moving product. Additional tanks were added and commissioned in July 2016 bringing the terminal to 3.3 million barrels of capacity. In July 2017, necessary permitting was received allowing Baltic Tank to construct another 4.2 million barrels of storage at Pasadena.

Baltic Tank Pasadena commenced operations in September 2017 to the Colonial and Explorer pipelines.

Baltic Tank Pasadena completed its third phase expansion project and commenced the operation.
